Our Curriculum & Homework
Curriculum Overview
Children will engage in a rich and challenging curriculum designed to consolidate their learning and prepare them for secondary school. In English, they develop advanced reading comprehension, writing and grammar skills through a variety of texts and genres. Maths focuses on deepening understanding of number, geometry, data handling and the introduction of algebra, with an emphasis on problem-solving. Science explores topics such as electricity, light, evolution and the human body through hands-on investigations.
Students are also supported in preparing for their end-of-key-stage SATs.

Homework & Homework Expectations
Continuous home learning of basic skills such as reading, spelling, and number work is very important because it helps children build strong foundations for future learning.
We expect children to read at least three times a week at home to improve their fluency, comprehension and confidence. They should complete weekly spelling homework sheets to reinforce their learning in school. They should also practice basic number skills including number bonds, doubling/ halving and times tables (links to TTRS and Numbots can be found below).
