Welcome to our Treehouse  Page

ASPIRE - LEARN - FLOURISH

The Aspire Learning Federation is made up of two schools - Elm Park Primary School and R J Mitchell Primary School in the London Borough of Havering.

The Treehouse is a safe, supportive and structured environment. It is a space where every child feels valued, understood and listened to and they are able to grow both socially and emotionally at their own pace. In the Treehouse we focus on building positive relationships, developing communication skills and supporting emotional regulation in a calm and nurturing setting. This is done through a carefully planned mix of structured activities, play based learning and sensory support. We help the children to develop the confidence and skills they need to thrive both in school and for the future.

Key Information

Treehouse is made up of pupils from Year 2-6. It is a bespoke nurture provision that runs throughout the mornings enabling children to return to their mainstream classrooms to access foundation lessons in the afternoons.

Our Curriculum & Homework

Curriculum Overview

In the Treehouse, the curriculum is adapted to support the individual needs of the children. While our focus is on emotional, social and communication development we also cover numeracy, literacy, understanding the world,  arts and design, PSED, communication and language and physical development. Our learning is flexible, and is always guided by the individual learning profiles of the children. We work closely with outside agencies that will support each child’s development.

Homework & Homework Expectations

Continuous home learning of basic skills such as reading, spelling, and number work is very important because it helps children build strong foundations for future learning.

We expect children to read at least three times a week at home to improve their fluency, comprehension and confidence. They should complete weekly spelling homework sheets to reinforce their learning in school. They should also practice basic number skills including number bonds, doubling/ halving and times tables (links to TTRS and Numbots can be found below).
