Dear Willow 1/2 Parents and Carers,
As we begin to prepare our littles Willows for many different transitions into Year 1, we would like W1 and W2 children to start independently walking from the school gate into school to the reception door. Now that we have passed the Easter holidays we believe that this is the perfect time for our Willows to grow more independence moving forward for preparation into Year 1.
On Mondays and Tuesdays parents can still bring their child to the reception door as this intertwines with the 'read together' event in the mornings. However, on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays we would like the children to begin to walk down on their own. Parents can drop their children at the front of the school gate and we will allocate two members of the Reception team at the main and courtyard gates to assist with our children when walking around.
We know that this is a big step and some children may become distressed, however it is also an exciting and rewarding time for our little willows! We will continue to discuss in class with our children so that they are prepared and can ask any questions that they may have.
This will start from this Wednesday 24th April. If you have any questions or concerns please speak to a member of the Reception team who are happy to help!
